Description

Ford, an American automotive icon, has a storied history that began with its founding by Henry Ford in 1903. The company revolutionized the automobile industry by introducing assembly line production, making cars more affordable and accessible to the public. Ford's distinctive blue oval logo, adopted in 1912, has become one of the most recognizable symbols in the automotive world, symbolizing the company's commitment to quality and innovation.

Ford demonstrates a proactive approach to monitoring and enforcing its trademarks. In 2011, Ford sued Ferrari for trademark infringement over Ferrari's use of "F150" for its Formula 1 race car. Ford claimed Ferrari intentionally leveraged the F-150 pickup truck's brand equity. Despite Ford's request to change the name, Ferrari's delayed response led to the lawsuit. Ferrari argued against consumer confusion, but Ford insisted the F150 mark infringed on its intellectual property rights. In 2022, Ford filed a federal trademark infringement lawsuit against Crov Inc., Sunward Logistics USA, FD-All Together Automotive, and Qingdao Hairunkaiyuan Auto Parts Co. The complaint alleges the production and sale of thousands of counterfeit automotive products, harming Ford's reputation and offering lower-quality items. Raids seized counterfeit truck grilles, spark plugs, glow plugs, ignition coils, and emblems.
