Description

Procter & Gamble (P&G), founded in 1837 by William Procter and James Gamble, is a multinational consumer goods corporation headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio. The company started as a small candle and soap-making business and grew over the years through product innovations, acquisitions, and strategic marketing. P&G has been a pioneer in brand management and product development. The company is known for creating and promoting iconic brands such as Tide, Pampers, Crest, and Gillette, among many others. P&G has a significant impact on the global consumer goods market.

Procter & Gamble (P&G) has been involved in various trademark disputes over the years. In 2015, P&G found itself in a trademark dispute involving its diaper brands, Pampers and Luvs. The dispute centered around P&G's claims that the private-label version of diapers sold by Family Dollar, a discount retail chain, too closely resembled P&G's Pampers and Luvs products. P&G filed a lawsuit against Family Dollar, alleging trademark infringement and seeking damages. In 2015, Procter & Gamble's subsidiary, Gillette, filed a lawsuit against Dollar Shave Club, a start-up that sells razors and blades through a subscription model. Gillette claimed that Dollar Shave Club's marketing and advertising, which often compared the prices and quality of its razors to Gillette's, infringed on Gillette's trademarks and patents.
