Is there a way to update our trademark registration if we decide to alter our logo?

If you decide to alter a logo protected by a trademark, it is not possible to change that existing trademark.

A registered trademark is granted based on the examination of the exact version of the logo you once submitted, and a change does not automatically mean you have the right to the same level of legal protection; therefore, your updated version would have to be assessed again.

Therefore, if you decide to make changes to your logo, it is recommended to file a new application. This way, you will gain protection over your new logo so no third party can use it. If your application passes, you will own two separate trademarks - one for your old logo and the other for the new one.
